Got a B25 in for a bridge reglue. It haspreviously bbedn replaced with a solid rosewood bridge. I will obviously glue down the loose wood, and the missing bits are still well adhered to the bridge. The old brass barrels from the height adjusters are still in place, but are loose. The customer insists that I leave them in place because the guitar has a fabulouse bass response and doesn't want it to change. I can tighten them some with the nuts under the bridge plate but they spin and I am wary of overtightening and pulling them through the top. What wouldyou suggest I do to further secure them in place?

Perhaps tighten them carefully and then a drop or two of thin CA wicked into their outside circumference.

I agree with michael - snug them up, and secure with CA - be sure to keep it from running through and dripping onto the back plate.

The other alternative, if your customer is up for it, is to remove the brass/steel/ceramic, and build a new bridge that accounts for the weight (or use heavier pins, allowing for some adjustment in bridge mass down the line, should more response be desired.

I'm working on a similar project right now with a B-25 3/4 size. There is a lot of hardware involved in those bridges.
